The artist Oppy de Bernardo (1970) addressed the issue of "migration" in March 2018 with a much-acclaimed presentation titled "Apolide" on the Piazza Grande in Locarno.

"Apolide" - "stateless" refers to a person who has emigrated abroad without being a citizen because she/he does not have citizenship and is not in possession of another.
With the help of 120 people the artist brought 6500 lifebelts in various shapes and colors on site and then covered 3500 square meters of the Piazza Grande.

The image with the pure color shades of the lifebelts in the foreground and the intense blue-violet sky at twilight is used by System Brunner for studies and test purposes with the 7-color separation and extended color space.
